During preparations for this years Christmas pie sale it came to our attention that some club members have changed their phone service and not notified the club. If you change your phone service please contact me via e-mail at wb2ydt@roadrunner.com or call and leave a message at 518-891-3580.
Big Game season is now over. I don't have the results of the Trudeau Big Buck Contest at the time of this writing. I think there were three bucks entered. I will print results in January.
Welcome new and returning members! John Riley and Ray Murphy.
Tuesday night pistol shooting group is still shooting and having fun. All pistol shooters are welcome to join in this session. Please call Al Nassan at 891-0382 or Dave Bodah at 891-5989 for further info.
Sporterifle is shooting on Monday nights.. All are welcome to join in the fun. Please call Charlie Marshall at 891-6018 or email him at ckmarshall@adelphia.net for info or to join in. Charlie is the team captain this season. You can also just show up at the club on a Monday night ready to shoot.
We elected new officers and board members at the December meeting. The lineup looks very familiar, with all positions the same this year as last with the exception of Al Fuller replacing Lee Robert as a board member.
The annual Pie Sale was once again a great success. Lots of pies were sold and many thanks to Bob Brown, Bill Gutersloh, Charlie Jessie and Jim Greibsch for manning the table at the Blue Line. A great big THANK YOU to all of you who baked the pies and goodies!
Put January 21st
and 22nd on your calendar.
This is when we will be having our annual Winter Gun Show. Lots of vendors and you can buy, sell and
trade your way to gun bliss.
The Colby Classic Ice Fishing Derby is rapidly approaching. It will be on March 3rd and 4th this year. Ceci Martin is the chair and will be looking for help gathering door prizes and registration and fish weighing. If you want to join in the fun call her at 201-4009.
Thank you to John Skiff and Wayne Granish for the work they have been doing around the clubhouse. John built table storage and a room around our new ventilation system and put in a timer so everyone can use the system. The guys also remodeled cabinets and shelves in the kitchen area.
Thank you Theresa Trudell for all the work you put in being the club rental manager. Because of your hard work our bottom line looks better than it would otherwise.
I received a call about a club member who was using a center
fire rifle on the indoor range. This is
dangerous because it can put holes in the steel backstop thus allowing rounds
to exit the back of the building. It is
very difficult to repair the backstop. Please observe the range
rules on guns and ammo. Rifles of .22 S, L or LR only. Pistols with Non Magnum loads only.
I am always looking for Club related news and photos. So if you have something you want in the newsletter please email it to me... djbodah@gmail.com
I hope all had a Merry Christmas and will have a
Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Dave
